My mindful mission

When you connect with me, Lexi Marshall Nutrition and Mindset Coach, you'll learn that my mission is to change the way women think about food and their bodies through mindset, intuitive eating, and empowered movement coaching.

As we build your personalized wellness roadmap, we'll hold true to these values:

Letting Go Of The Bulls***: Let go of diet-rules that fuel restrictive-binge eating and leave you feeling hopeless, for good. Learning how to attune in to your body's unique needs allows us the oppritutnity to nourish ourselves from a place of compassion, intention, and curiosity, instead of criticism and restriction. Silence the diet noise and re-discover the joy of eating while crushing the f*** out of your goals.

Mastering The Mindset: At first, your motivation might stem from a place of wanting to achieve an ideal body weight or fit into a older pair or jeans. What you'll discover is that this desire is driven by an unfulfilled, unmet need, encouraged by a $72.6 million industry who profit from a body-shaming narrative. What we all truly desire, is freedom from food and body-image scrutiny, and a way of eating that honors ours wants, needs, and goals equally. Liberate yourself from nonsense and step into your strongest self by becoming partners with your body and establishing a plan that honors your needs once and for all.

Eating With Confidence: There are so many mixed messages in media that tell us what we should and shouldn’t do, when in fact, they don't know the first thing about us! Uncovering where food anxiety stems from and learning how to adopt healthy-for-you habits are fundamental parts of improving your confidence with food. Stop questioning what, when, or how much you're suppose to eat. Remove yourself from toxic social settings that make you feel inferior or confused. What is healthy for someone else, may not be healthy for you, and vise versa. You deserve to know the science of nutrition, and how to make use of it. You deserve to know the science of your body, and how to support it with food and exercise. You deserve freedom of food-guilt and shame for life. It's time to step into your most confident self and never question your eating habits again.

Discovering Empowered Movement: Many of us approach exercise as something we “should do” or something that needs to be checked off our daily task list. We know it’s beneficial to our health, yet has widely become something we dread, force ourselves to do, or honestly struggle to do it at all. Given how appearance-focused, and weight-driven our society is, exercise has become something we “have to” or “should” do rather than something we want to do. Finding empowered movement requires the practice of connecting and listening to your body, assessing how it feels, what type of movement will feel best, as well as how long and how hard of intensity to push that day. When we're able to connect with our body’s internal cues, we can then determine what type of movement will serve our health and well-being, rathen then hyper-fixating on the scale or calories burned. This mindset shift will allow and empower us to view exercise as more enjoyable and less stressful and exercise will become something we look forward to rather than dread.

My Background

A little background information: I'm a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer with 10+ years in the health and fitness industry. I am a food lover, nature admirer, kitty lover, and nutrition advocate for all. But most importantly, an RDN who is passionate about helping people build a healthy relationship with food, and themselves.

Continuing on with my history: Before I became an RDN, I trained at variety of local gyms where I had the pleasure of learning from some of the best (and worst) coaches in the fitness and health industry. Being active in sports and recreational actives all my life, I developed a passion for helping people move and fuel their bodies in an empowering and sustainable way. As an RDN who has experienced the many negative effects of dieting, I've learned ways to overcome these obstacles from an intuitive, and compassionate place (let's be honest.. I didn't become a pro overnight). Working in this industry has certainly exposed me to the devastating effects of chronic dieting/ under-fueling, especially in athletes. This was NOT okay in my book, and since then I've dedicated my life to changing this narrative.

More about my education: While studying for my Bachelor of Health Science Degree at Cleveland State University, I worked as a trainer and group fitness instructor. After completing my undergraduate degree, I received a Master of Science in Clinical Dietetics and Nutrition from Kent State University, where I became involved in professional academics, community outreach, and research. During this time, I also published a Master’s Thesis called, ‘Knowledge, Perception, and Use of the Ketogenic Diet In College Students at a Midwestern University,’ where various metabolic processes are explored and FAD-diet health concerns are addressed.

In conjunction with my own research: I worked in the microbiology department studying the effects of diet manipulation on rat metabolism (cool stuff, right?). You now have full permission to call me a nerd (and I’m totally cool with it). Soon after graduation, I completed my Dietetic Internship with Be Well Solutions where I developed a deeper love for individualized nutrition and wellness coaching. Soon after passing the Dietitian Licensure Exam, I followed my calling and opened my private practice. And here we are! Now that you know more about my history, it’s time to talk about what I can do for you today.

IT'S TIME GIRLFRIEND. Say goodbye to diet-rules that promise you a lifetime of happiness, but instead leave you with heartache, trauma, and feelings of hopelessness. This isn't your typical '21-Day Fix' or '30-Day Weight Loss Challenge.' This is about adopting life-long behaviors that bring you more life. If you're ready to improve your health, it's time to invest in a nutrition plan that honors your individuality. You don't have to feel controlled by food forever. Let me show you how!
